Now known as ‘Verified by Visa’ and MasterCard ‘SecureCode’, the 3-D Secure™ protocol was developed by Visa to improve the Internet payment security.
We created our 3-D Secure™ Payment Authentication Solution to enable you to quickly and easily authenticate cardholders using the 3-D Secure protocol.
Each transaction is passed to our Merchant Plug-in (MPI), which checks if a cardholder is enrolled in the Verified by Visa or MasterCard ‘SecureCode’ services and if so, our MPI re-directs that cardholder to the Card Issuer’s Access Control Server to process their online payer authentication, then reports the result to you.
CVV2/AVS
Servebase cardholder-not-present payment processing solutions support the use of the following anti-fraud measures: Card Verification Value or Code 2 (CVV2 or CVC2) and Address Verification System (AVS).
CVV2 is an abbreviation for Cardholder Verification Value 2, a 3 or 4 digit value which is only printed on the payment card and so can be used to verify a cardholder has the card in their physical possession, protecting you against fraud. CVV2 is one of two codes comprising the Card Security Code.
AVS: Address Verification System (AVS) enables you to request address information from a cardholder when taking card details and send it to an acquirer to be verified. The acquirer compares the supplied address information with a stored value to confirm the person presenting the card knows the address of the cardholder. To learn more contact us.
